You need to be here.
(Our wine and complementary bowl of popcorn… Ok they already won me over.)
I don’t write a review unless I just LOVED a place. If there is a place I wouldn’t recommend to someone then I simply do not take the time to write about them.
My husband and I really love red wine, modern culture and unique places in Central Phoenix.
A few months ago we came across central wine, tucked into a little building with other locally owned business right off central on Glenrose ave.
We actually ate next door at the Clever Koi which is a modern asian infused eatery (Love it) then happen to stop by the wine bar afterward.
Let me just start by telling you how amazing the ambiance and service is.
Relaxed, inviting and exciting:)
The first time we went in, one of the bartenders had a vintage fruit dress on and we attempted to count how many different fruits she was wearing, sparking a great conversation about how the place came to be. Every time we have talked to someone working there, it always sparks a friendly conversation that I take with me. This time we learned from one of the bartenders about many vintage shops in Phoenix that have reoccurring sales.
The other welcoming aspect to the bar aside from the easy-going staff is the character of the place. When I asked how to describe the style, “farmhouse glam” was the response. In looking around you can tell that is an incredibly accurate description on account of all the wood accents, tin ceiling tiles and other little rustic details. Then there is a glamorous touch added with channelers, textures and various shimmery elements that really make the place attractive and home-y, yet fancy all at the same time.
There is a hair salon next door that shares the bathroom so it creates a really open environment that breaths. It’s also the darndest thing when one of the hair dressers comes over to chit chat at the bar:)
Little France style bathroom. They have incredible taste down to the last detail. When she started the bar, the owner brought in a designer and they truly made the place a hang out spot for anyone and everyone (over 21 at least!)
Last but not least the wine- Awesome. Most people take another bottle of what they just drank home. The website promptly has the featured wines each season, but take my word it’s way more fun to just go in and learn about them in person. They are great quality and with so many varieties I’m not going to get sick of them any time soon. If you go visit their website, there are some AWESOME deals and free tasting days you should check out as well. All in all it will be a place we go to again and again just because central wine has created a fun escape from a hard day’s work. I love it.
